Following the Drillalian Civil War, we see the Prince amid the charred ruins of civilization. He has assumed the rank of the Lord of Drillalia. We hear his melancholy song.

The secret of the Last Drillaliet is revealed. We witness the process of his identification with the Prince, encounter the great Rabbi Zalman Shneur of Lyady, and hear readings from his sacred writings.

***

The opera depicts the birth, initiation and adventures of a Drillalian Prince. According to the laws of Drillalia, this all occurs simultaneously in the future, the present and the past – time frames and events intertwine whimsically in the young man’s maturing consciousness.

The performance is accompanied by English-language supertitles.

Drillalians in cinemas

The Stanislavsky Electrotheatre's production of Drillalians begins showing in cinemas worldwide in high-quality video in April 2018. The screenings are the work of the Stage Russia HD project. The list of cinemas where Drillalians I and II will be shown is constantly updated on the project website. For more information, visit here

This performance is a kind of magic tablet. The product of legal hallucinatory drugs. Not just any drug. this one makes you fly. - German Vinogradov, artist
The world created here is demonstrably redundant, from its literary basis to its incarnation on stage. It exists in an aggressive, even hostile environment, inside the "dumb luck" that distracts each of us from intellectual principles. Society and the "street" have no other task but to step on the throat one’s individual song. One must have courage and strength to see and hear in oneself the "lonely voice of an individual," to develop that and bring it to the state of a finished product. Dmitry Bavilsky, “The Mighty Handful”
