Stanislavsky Electrotheatre Hosts Online Streaming of its Productions

  The Stanislavsky Electrotheatre continues it's program of streaming theatre performances, and lectures of the School of Contemporary Spectators and Listeners. The new contingent opens with Heiner Goebbels Week, which will offer archival footage of meetings and conversations with the director, as well as the presentation of his book The Aesthetics of Absence, the installation Fading Apocalypse, and his production, Max Black, or, 62 Ways of Supporting the Head with a Hand. In the last two weeks of April, we will offer streams of of Boris Yukhananov’s multi-part performances - The Blue Bird and The Golden Ass. Streaming will take place on the Afisha website, the Culture.ru portal and VKontakte on the theatre’s page.

Director and composer Heiner Goebbels moves away from traditional drama into a world where machines, fire and electricity, noises and melodies tell stories on a par with a person - they become tools for creating polyphony.

Fading Apocalypse

Faading Apocalypse is an installation created by director Boris Yukhananov in collaboration with  artist Yelena Koptyaeva as a reflection of the identities of three outstanding contemporary artists, directors Heiner Goebbels, Theodoros Terzopoulos and Romeo Castellucci. Each enters into dialogue with Boris Yukhananov as they apply water with a brush to a small stone board. The unpredictability of “fading” water gives rise to various thoughts associated with their work on various performances. This reflects the unpredictable nature of creativity.

The Blue Bird. Journey
The stream will take place on Afisha.ru and the Electrotheatre page on VKontakte 
In the first part of the trilogy, Tyltyl and Mytyl set out on a journey. Actors Vladimir Korenev and Aleftina Konstantinova recall their childhood in war, their parents, the filming of the legendary film Amphibian Man and their theatre colleagues.

The Blue Bird. Night

In the second part of the trilogy, Tyltyl and Mytyl find themselves in the Palace of Night. Vladimir Korenev and Aleftina Konstantinova recall their own wedding, Korenev's wild fanatics, the Moscow Art Theatre's production of The Seagull, and the 1991 coup.

Tyltyl finds himself in the Gardens of Beatitudes, but prefers the warmth of the Home Hearth, where Mytyl awaits him. Korenev recalls a tour to the provincial city of Ivanovo, where he almost became the erotic victim of some overzealous seamstresses.

Psyche travels the world in search of her lover, Cupid, who left her to punish her for breaking her vows. Contrary to the instructions of her invisible husband, she disobeys her sisters and, thinking Cupid a monster, resolves to cut off his head with a razor. But a daring lamp illuminates the secrets of the bed, and Psyche sees Cupid, the god of love, resting peacefully on his bed.

Cupid, who left Psyche, spends time at the mansion of his mother. Angry and annoyed, his mother threatens to take away his bow and arrow - “the great god's kind-hearted weapon,” and swears she will adopt a slave and give him all this weaponry. The reason for the family quarrel is the secret marriage of the son with a mortal woman, Psyche. Cupid's mother does not wish to tolerate her hated daughter-in-law, and she sends her to the kingdom of the dead instead.

Lucius appears for the first time in the magical city of Thessaly. He brings a letter for his uncle Milo, one of the city's most influential people. He is met on the threshold by the seductive servant Fotida who escorts Lucius to the guest room. After a warm welcome, Lucius intends to go to the baths, but first goes to the market to get dinner, and there he meets his old friend Pythia, with whom he studied in Athens. He also meets his aunt Byrhhena at the market, who tells him about the city and invites him to a feast.
