Theodoros Terzopoulos Meets Students
Greek director and teacher Theodoros Terzopoulos met with students of the philology faculty of the Higher School of Economics, the Film Institute, and the Directorate of Educational Programs following a performance of his production of The Bacchae on March 5, 2016, in the foyer of the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre.
The meeting, organized by the Directorate of Educational Programs and professor Olga Kuptsova of Moscow State University, consisted of two stages.Stage one consisted of Kuptsova and critic Christine Matvienko (curator of the Electrotheatre's School of Modern Spectators and Listeners) conducting a discussion with the students leading to the formation of a pool of questions and comments that were to be presented to Terzopoulos.
The group was then joined by Terzopoulos, translator Ksenia Klimova and some actors who perform in The Bacchae - Yelena Morozova (Dionysus), Alla Kazakova (Agave) and Oleg Bazhanov (Cadmus). The conversation quickly went beyond the general topic of theatre and strayed into the realm of philosophy, life and work. The meeting ended around midnight.
