Boris Yukhananov Receives the Grand Prix of the First Moscow Art Prize

Boris Yukhananov, director and Artistic Director of the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre, received the Grand Prix of the Moscow Art Prize for his production of the opera Octavia. Trepanation.

The awards ceremony of the first Moscow Art Prize took place on November 20. Awards were presented in five nominations: Literature, Fine Arts and Architecture, Cinema, Theatre and Music. The jury separately awarded the Grand Prix to Boris Yukhananov, Artistic Director of the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre, for Octavia. Trepanation.

The Moscow Art Prize in Contemporary Art, established by the Foundation for the Development of Contemporary Art with the support of the Moscow City Government, is awarded for outstanding works of literature, music, theatre, cinema and visual arts that have become a phenomenon in Moscow's cultural life. More than 800 applications were submitted for the prize from authors and creative teams from Russia, Germany, Austria, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. The winners were determined by the Prize Council, which, in 2020, included 30 experts. Among them: theatre critic Roman Dolzhansky; Dmitry Mozgovoi, Deputy Chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers of the Russian Federation; musicologist Vladislav Tarnopolsky; art critic Nikolai Palazhchenko; playwright Mikhail Durnenkov, and others.
