The premiere took place on 13 June 2019.

Group of creators: Dmitry Borisov, Maria Dorogova, Ilya Kozin, Vyacheslav Kornichenko, Anastasia Nefyodova, Alexander Novitsky, Denis Prutov, Svetlana Sataeva.

The Hamlet Theatre Laboratory, the NEZHIT Company of Free Artists, Moscow International University, the MIR-5 Individual Directing Workshop, and the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre present several compositions of Shakespeare's play.

This laboratory initiates a discussion about a new spatial language, where, as in acting improvisation, improvisation in scenography and costumes is possible, including their absence and destruction, which may also be considered an act of conscious creation.

Hamlet maybe. Deliberate refusal. Action. The energy of search. Internal structure. Meta-plot. Shakespeare's tragedy. Alchemical process. Spontaneous organization. Hieroglyph in sand (on the surf line). Non-performance. Structured freedom. A circle. Individual vs. character. Empty tablet. Zhit/nezhit (Live/not-live). Snake in a dream (in the garden). ACTING vs. PLAYING. Shakespeare playthings. Garbage. Method. Elusiveness. Scream. The unknowable in the known.

“If we look at this project from the point of view of theatrical space, then this is a study of non-space, non-scenography, and non-costumes leads to the creation of a zero language. What is it and how is it possible? To be a project or not to be? Will set design happen or not? If considered from the point of view of the environment and theatrical technologies, this is an attempt to study the possibility of working with non-theatrical materials, bringing actual human relations and ecology in all senses to theatre. Pollution of oneself and pollution of the surrounding world is an ambivalent shifter that worries me and my students, fellow artists, and we want to engage it.” — Anastasia Nefyodova, chief designer of the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre.

An Electro Talk will be held with the production creators following the June 21 performance. It will be moderated by Kristina Matvienko.
