This book consists of records and transcripts of the rehearsals made by Boris Yukhananov’s assistants during work on his evolutionary production Faust. It includes archival materials from 1999 to 2008 that reflect the different stages of the work, the thematic and semantic analysis of Goethe’s tragedy, and the methodology of the dialogue among the director and his actors. The book is an artistic diary of work on six different versions of the production.

It is accompanied by a flash card with the following video films: a recording of the sixth edition of Faust (3 hours 36 minutes, 2009); and a documentary video, Journey Through the Apocalypse, directed by Yevgeny Pokhis (1 hour, 24 minutes, 2013).

The Archiving the Future project has been taking place at the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre since 2017 and will run until 2019. It presents events that reveal for a general audience the intense activity of Boris Yukhananov and his colleagues in the underground art of the 1980s and 1990s.
