The first meeting in the Moscow: The Topology of Art series, organized by the participants of Place of Art project (curator Viktor Miziano; art critic and curator Georgy Nikich; Tatyana Volkova, curator and creator of the MediaUdar festival; artist Dima Filippov, curator of the Electrozavod gallery; critic Maria Kravtsova; and Anna Ilchenko, curator of exhibition projects).

The discussion will be devoted to the map of Moscow's art sites, the way the palette of artistic spaces evolved in the past and how it is represented now, how Moscow's art sites are mapped, as well as to research and public discussion of the history of exhibitions. And also: What role do self-organized spaces play? How do large institutions and independent sites function? Is there a decentralization of art sites? Is there a hierarchy of places of art and what does that involve?

The Place of Art is a platform dedicated to the study of the history of exhibitions and issues of modern curatorship. Within the framework of the discussion there will be a presentation, in which participants will talk about the goals and plans of the project.

Moderator: Natalya Smolyanskaya
