Romeo Castellucci
Director
Italian theatre director. Repeat winner of the Ubu Italian theatre prize, founded in 1977 by Franco Quadri. Cavalier of the French Order of Arts and Literature (2002).
Castellucci studied decorative art and painting at the University of Fine Arts in Bologna. With his sister Claudia Castellucci and wife, playwright Chiara Guidi, he founded the Socìetas Raffaello Sanzio theatre company in 1981.
He has supervised the theatrical section of the Venice Biennale (2005), and was an Associated Artist (artiste associé) of the Avignon Festival 2008.
