The Aesthetics of Absence

The first book in Russian by German composer, director and teacher Heiner Goebbels. It is a collection of articles and talks drawn from different years, but united by the theme of the artist’s search for a contemporary aesthetic and a new relationship among all components of a theatrical production, including the actor, composer, author and artist. The book was published to coincide with the premiere of Goebbels’ production of Max Black, or 62 Ways of Supporting a Head with a Hand at the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre.
