The Stanislavsky Electrotheatre and the Center for Contemporary Art present:
September 28, 2018 marks the 120th anniversary of the birth of George Gershwin, an outstanding jazz composer, one of the creators of a fundamentally new language of free improvisation. The art of Gershwin combined African American and European cultures.
This project, dedicated to Gershwin’s work, is an installation consisting of audio recordings made by the composer and his brother, jazz album covers, art objects created by contemporary composers (Valery Martynchik, Vladimir Rannev, Vladimir Sulyagin, Marina Fomenko, Nikita Spiridonov, Vyacheslav and Alexei Osipenko) in the context of the greats musician’s work.
Free admission; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
