A memorial evening for Ksenia Staroselskaya (1937 - 2017), the prominent translator from Polish, editor of the Foreign Literature magazine, winner of many Polish and Russian translation awards. Staroselskaya’s translations made Henryk Sienkiewicz, Stanislaw Witkiewicz, Slawomir Mrozek, Czeslaw Milosz and many other Polish writers available to Russian readers.

Staroselskaya’s last work, a translation of Hannah Krall’s Portrait with a Bullet in the Jaw and other Stories (Corpus Publishing, 2017), will be presented at the evening. The evening’s special guest will be Adam Pomorski, chairman of the Polish PEN club.
