The premiere took place in 8 November 2018.

The impersonal Tao (in the classical translation - Dao) is embodied in the form of a simple gardener who occasionally visits her small vegetable garden. The Tao Gardener is an installation that transpires in the Stanislavsky Electrotheatre foyer, and transforms into a micro-performance. The action lasts for five to seven minutes, after which Tao continues his Way and ascends to his Heavenly abode. Each micro-performance (there are 21 of them) is dedicated to one chapter of the ancient philosophical treatise.

The journey of Tao will run throughout the entire season, and now you can enjoy all micro-productions in one day.

Translated into Russian from the ancient Chinese by Konishi Masutaro (the first Russian translation of Tao te Ching). Originally published in 1894 and edited by Leo Tolstoy.

English translation by John Minford.
